Planning and Controlling Set goals and targets - and reach them

At first E2 supported the launch of "Essence": This wrist watch's case consists to 1/3 of renewable material, it's band is of gum and the packaging was intelligently designed as it customers can use it as mobile phone protection.

In 2019, E2 participated at the opening event for the large photovoltaic rooftop installation of Mondaine's factory in Biberist (SO).

During 2020, we calculated Mondaine Group's eco- and climate-balance. In november, Mondaine declared their watches to be climate neutral: all climate gas emissions from materials, packagings and the group's own sites are compensated thru a great forest project in Indonesia (fairventures). At the same time, Mondaine Group published its first sustainability report. Zürich's leading newspater NZZ published a detailed article.

RUMBA aims at reducing the environmental footprint of the Swiss federal administration's work and products. In addition, RUMBA aims at cost reductions and efficiency gains, the environmental co-ordination in the administration, fostering staff motivation, and to strengthen the federal administration as environmental role model. Next to content and implementation, E2 has significantly supported RUMBA reporting, e.g. with the annual reports.

In some federal administration areas, E2 has consulted specific environmental management projects: 

- In the federal office for construction and logistics (Bundesamt für Bauten und Logistik BBL), workshops on 'Environment & Construction' for construction project managers
- at the ETH Zürich an energy policy and energy workshops for all staff.

Climate Neutrality concept development: Sunstar is the first hotel chain worldwide to achieve climate neutrality for all its activities (2008)
Greenhouse Gas emission calculation (since 2008)

• Develop & moderate board strategy workshops on environment and recylate use (2008)
• LCA of recycled concrete, compared to virgin material: Project design und support, in cooperation with the Hochschule Rapperswil (2008/9)
• LCA of oil shale and cement burnt with oil shale (2010)

According to an analysis of University of Lucern, the ibex fairstay is one of the four globally leading sustainability labels for the accomodation industry. Some 50 Swiss hotels and hostels carry an "ibex" label.

Next to sustainable management, the ibex enables a Hotel to receive the Swiss tourism quality label (Q, QQ, QQQ; see e.g. here) as well as the "green living" or "sustainable living" accreditation by Hotelleriesuisse.

The ibex-certification is, yet simplified, aligned with the ISO 9001 and 14001 and the SA8000 standards. It also contains sector-specific performance targets. For more than 10 years, a dedicated office manages the label. E2 continues to be on the label's certification board.

In two subsequent projects, banks and insurance companies led by E2 developed key performance indicators for the environmental and the social performance of banks and insurance companies. The environmental KPIs ('EPI-Finance') were the first sustainability KPIs for the financial industry. The social KPIs ('SPI-Finance') were the first sector supplement of the GRI.
