About me

Arthur has been a cornerstone of Swiss sustainability consulting since 1989. As co-author of the Method of Ecological Scarcity, he has helped define how businesses measure environmental impact. He served as the founding director of öbu and currently acts as its President. His work focuses on providing firms with the rigorous data needed to turn environmental challenges into strategic market advantages

Biography

First degree and doctorate in economics at the University of St. Gall HSG. Three years with IBM. From 1988 until 1998 establishing and managing director of öbu Swiss Association for sustainable management. Since 1998 Managing Partner of E2. Research and teaching on Environmental Management and Eco-balances at ETH and various universities. Consulting on sustainability oriented strategies and management. Active roles e.g. at öbu - Swiss Association for sustainable economy, in the Swiss Discussion Forum LCA, and with the environmental science journal 'GAIA'. 2019 Sabbatical at the "New School" in New York. Numerous publications.
